Yamaha Music School

The Yamaha Music School is designed to promote musical education and have fun while doing so. The school offers group learning and allows students to connect and participate in a community with others sharing the same passion. I was responsible for initial art direction for the schools identity as well as visual/UI design for their landing environment. Two directions are shown within.

Proposal

My original proposal for the Yamaha Music School project. Although, we ultimately went a different direction, I still really like this version. The photography style is so natural and warm – it creates so much authenticity. The addition of the line-art waves in each section convey movement, fluidity and motion. From a navigational standpoint, I like the simple, one-word headlines for each section which tie into the actual site navigation.

Logo Options

Several logo options were proposed. Shown are a few different directions including styling that meshes well with the font styling in both versions. All logos were designed to work in all instances, large or small, such as mobile, letterhead, etc.

Final Version

The final version features a radically different art direction and more pronounced colors stemming from Yamaha’s core purple. The background “waves” are used to convey motion and lead the user down the page.

The official launch included a few different pieces of photography.
