Design My JBL

JBL partnered with Amazon to host a contest geared toward creatives. Participants will enter by designing a custom wrap and face-color for JBL’s 305P MKII studio monitors. The client was seeking art direction for the contest, including a logo, a few monitor designs of what the speakers could look like and a landing environment on Amazon. My design direction was then used for all marketing efforts.

Speaker Skins

Five unique skins were created to help inspire designers to submit their own artwork for the contest. I tried to illustrate and array of styles – from graffiti to floral patterns to robots.

Logo Design

When designing the logo, because we’re prompting designers to enter the contest, I wanted a more “sketchy” or architectural feel. It was important that the logo could still be paired with the actual JBL branding and still mesh appropriately.

Amazon Landing Page

JBL had a dedicated page on Amazon for the contest. Within the constraints of the template and font selection, I designed a header, video module and basic page-body for contestants to get started.

Email Design

Design shows what an email for the contest would look like. It would drive interested participants to the landing environment hosted on Amazon.
